Accessibility

Increase text size

The text size on our Web pages can be increased by modifying the parameters on your browser. To do this, simply follow the instructions outlined below or use the help tool on your browser.

Internet Explorer

  1. Select "View" from the menu at the top of the browser window.
  2. Select "Text Size".
  3. Select "Larger" or "Largest".

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Select "View" from the menu at the top of the browser window.
  2. Select "Text Size".
  3. Select "Increase".
  4. Repeat the above steps as needed.

Opera

  1. Select "View" from the menu at the top of the browser window.
  2. Select "Zoom".
  3. From the pulldown menu, select the size you want.
  4. Repeat the above steps as needed.

Netscape

  1. Select "View" from the menu at the top of the browser window.
  2. Select "Text Size".
  3. Using the pulldown menu, select the size you want.

Print page

The printable version of a page can be accessed by clicking "Print" on the vertical toolbar.

This can also be done by selecting "File", then "Print" from the top menu of your Web browser. The printed document will include all of the content on the Web page except for the menu bars on either side of the page. The print version will also contain the wordmark "Canada" and the official Agency signature as well as the date at which the page was last modified.

Client-side cascading style sheet (CSS) file for enhancing accessibility

The design features of the Web pages on the Agency site are flexible enough to allow you to configure the visual presentation using a client-side Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) file in order to better meet your accessibility needs.

Most browsers allow for the definition of a client-side CSS file, which can then be applied to each Web page you visit. To take advantage of this feature, follow the steps below:

Information search

The Agency’s Website has been designed so as to offer various different ways of finding information. This section contains search and navigation information that will help you quickly retrieve the pages you want.

The pages on the Agency Website all have certain common elements, which are described below.

  • Horizontal toolbar - The black horizontal toolbar provides access to basic functions. The topics on this toolbar, as well as their uses, are as follows:
    • "English" brings you directly to the English version of the page you are viewing.
    • "Home" leads to the homepage of the Agency Website.
    • "Contact Us" tells you how to reach us by e-mail, telephone, fax, mail or in person.
    • "Help" lists the principal tools to help you find what you are looking for.
    • "Search" takes you to a detailed search function.
    • "Canada Site" redirects you from the Agency to the Government of Canada Website.
  • Left menu bar - The left scrolldown menu bar includes the following sections:
    • Business Offices
    • Programs
    • Services
    • Minister
    • The Agency
    • Media Room
    • Publications
    • About the site
    • Completed Access to Information Requests
    • Proactive Disclosure
  • Right navigation - On pages that have a three-column layout, the right column provides content-related information. It may contain any or all of the following sections:
    • "I want to..." provides direct access to the Agency's Quebec Economic Development Program.
    • "Business offices" provides direct access to our regional business offices.
    • "Tools and resources" provides direct access to a project submission guide, frequently asked questions and a network of partners.
  • Page footers - Page footers contain the following information:
    • "Last revised" refers to the most recent date the document was officially published or updated. The date is displayed in YYYY-MM-DD format.
    • The up arrow brings you to the top of the page you are viewing.
    • "Important Notices" links you to a page containing important information respecting privacy, official languages, Web links and copyright.

Search engine

The Search Engine facilitates access to information through the use of single keywords or keyword phrases.

Document content formats

Most of the content on this site is available in HTML format.  Many documents are also available in other format; those documents may require the use of a specific reader.

PDF format

To access the PDF version, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader software.

RSS news feeds

A special tool known as an “RSS reader” or “RSS aggregator” is needed to access an RSS news feed. Free RSS readers are easily available for download on the Internet.

Conversion of CSV files

Reports can be downloaded as text files in CSV format and opened with a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel. Here are a few easy instructions on how to open these files in Excel.

  1. Open the CSV file using Excel.
  2. To convert your file, select the first data column (column A).
  3. Go to the “Data” menu and click “Text to Columns”. 
  4. When the dialogue box opens, choose “Delimited”and then “Next”.
  5. In the list of delimiters, choose “Comma” and then “Next”.
  6. Leave default options as they are and click “Finish”.
  7. To complete the conversion, save as an Excel file by choosing the .xsl extension from the pull-down menu.
