Did You Know? Memorialization

An example of a bronze plaque bearing the snowflake emblem together with a recipient’s name.

November 17, 2015

Members of the Order of Canada can now leave an enduring mark of the recognition they have received from their country. The Chancellery of Honours has established a partnership with Beechwood Cemetery to provide bronze plaques that bear the snowflake emblem together with a recipient’s name. These plaques can be easily sent to destinations across the country and affixed to a variety of grave markers.

Beechwood is run through the not-for-profit Beechwood Cemetery Foundation, which counts several members of the Order of Canada among its directors, and was designated the National Cemetery of Canada by Parliament, in 2009. For more information, please visit www.beechwoodcemetery.com
