Bernard LeBlanc

Bernard T. LeBlanc was appointed to the Veterans Review and Appeal Board in 2007. A former senior partner with a Moncton law firm, he brings 20 years of experience as a trial litigator in family and disability law to his role as a Member of the Board. From 2000 to 2006, he further developed his strong adjudicative skills by conducting hearings as Chair of the Mental Health Tribunals for the Moncton, New Brunswick area, often dealing with Veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and other mental health conditions. From 2005 to 2007, he acted as the Independent Chairperson for Correctional Service Canada's Atlantic Institute in Renous, New Brunswick.

Mr. LeBlanc holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Political Science from Acadia University, and obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of New Brunswick in 1986.

Mr. LeBlanc has dedicated many years to strengthening his community, having volunteered as an Auxiliary Constable with the RCMP for two years and in leadership roles with the Boys and Girls Club of Moncton, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Moncton, Moncton Minor Baseball, the Moncton Mental Health Association, the New Brunswick Law Society and other service organizations.
