Communications Research Centre Canada

The Communications Research Centre Canada (CRC) is part of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. The CRC performs R&D in advanced telecommunications systems and technologies, with a particular focus on the efficient exploitation of the radio spectrum. The CRC is the government's leading source of scientific knowledge and long-term technical advice for spectrum management, regulation and policy purposes.

Research

The Communications Research Centre has three research priorities: Grand Challenge R&D; Direct Client Support R&D; and Wireless Technology Foresight.

Innovation

Much of the CRC's R&D is performed in pursuit of its Grand Challenges: spectrum environment awareness; breaking the frequency barrier; and better use of spectrum.

Expertise

The CRC is a client-driven, applied research centre with expertise extending from wireless technologies, namely network technologies, information processing, as well as propagation and antennas; to applications and performance, specifically performance evaluation, radio technologies, and network applications.

Collaboration

The CRC offers opportunities for engagement with academia and industry, and provides access to its portfolio of intellectual property of patents and copyrighted software.
