My Service Canada Account

Possible Canada Post service disruption: Important notice

If you receive benefit cheques by mail, you can sign up for direct deposit through My Service Canada Account. Direct deposit is the most efficient and surest method of payment that will not be impacted by a postal disruption.

Employment Insurance (EI) clients:
In the event of a Canada Post service disruption, EI clients who cannot sign up for direct deposit can call the EI Call Centre to get their cheque re-issued.

Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security clients:

Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security cheques will not be impacted as per an agreement with Canada Post to continue delivering these cheques during a service disruption.
