  1. Over the past several months there has been much media coverage how Veterans are supported by the Government.

  2. Intents aside, government needs to implement the right Veterans programs: Deputy Ombudsman -

  3. Deputy Veterans Ombudsman Gary Walbourne to appear on Sunday, February 9 at 11:00a.m. EST

  4. Guy Parent, Canada’s Veterans Ombudsman, will appear before the Senate Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs

  5. All the tools are in place to do it now without undue delay. Our Veterans and their families deserve no less.

  6. We need to visibly show our commitment to our men and women in uniform now so that they can have hope for a better future.

  7. If we focus on fixing the fundamental gaps in the NVC, many of the other complaints will disappear.

  8. We need to fortify families so they are better informed & compensated for the critical support they provide to our men and women in uniform.

  9. We need to strengthen the transition process with better opportunities through world class vocational training and industry partnerships.

  10. We must focus on the core issues with the NVC which have far more significance in the day to day lives of our Veterans.

  11. The path to improving the NVC is clear. We all know where the gaps are. Impeding that path is a worrisome trend.

  12. What CF members & Veterans struggle with is when they give their all, Government’s obligation falls short of meeting their needs.
