Brilliant site

Very billiant site

On April 1, 2015, Public Works and Government Services Canada will update its presence on the Government of Canada’s Open Data portal. None of the changes will impact the data in PWGSC’s Tender Notices, Contract History, Goods and Services Identification Number, and Standing Offers and Supply Arrangements datasets found at the Government of Canada Open Data Portal. Nevertheless, we will remove some files and update the Procurement Data Dictionary. A complete list of the changes coming April 1, 2015 is available on Buyandsell.gc.ca: https://buyandsell.gc.ca/updates-to-pwgsc-procurement-data-on-the-open-data-portal

Well the information seem OK, but there is no way to parse only a part of the data by query string or whatever.

Thank you for your interest in the Tender Notices dataset. We do not currently provide tools to query directly into individual datasets. In the future, we will investigate the possibility of offering this feature.

The way that bilingual text is organized here, just is nasty. There really should be a better standard for CSV files produced by the GoC.

Thank you for your comment and your interest in the Tender Notices dataset. We are reviewing our bilingual CSV files and will communicate any changes/updates in advance on Buyandsell.gc.ca.

On September 3, 2015, Public Works and Government Services Canada updated its Tender notices datasets on the Government of Canada’s Open Data Portal. A UTF-8 BOM (Byte Order Mark) was added to all CSV Tender Notices datasets.

When I download the "Active Tenders" CSV file from you website and compare it to the New Notices you have posted, that CSV file is missing opportunities. Example is solicitation EB144-161563/A that was posted on Buy and Sell November 5, 2015 but when I download the Active Tenders CSV, it is not included in the file....why? Here is the link to your CSV file http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/ffd38960-1853-4c19-ba26-e50bea2cb2d5

Thank you for your question, Rick. We have highlighted this issue with the dataset owner for action. Open-Ouvert Team

Thank you for your comment and your interest in the Tender Notices dataset. Our Active tender notices CSV file has been updated to reflect actual results published on Buyandsell.gc.ca. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

The CSV file for "Active" Tender notices doesn't appear to be a valid CSV. If you open the file in notepad, the fields are no longer wrapped in quotes. http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/ffd38960-1853-4c19-ba26-e50bea2cb2d5

Thanks for letting us know, Rick. We have forwarded this issue to the dataset provider for their action. Best regards, the Open Government Team

new-today csv file has become total junk in the last couple days. no longer valid CSV, JSON or anything else. Perhaps web server is spitting out GZ compressed files now? tx

Do you have an ETA for a fix?

As wlloyd said, we are having problem with the csv file recently. We would like an eta on the fix.

We also noticed data problems in the new today csv file. The closing date now has an invalid format (ex.: 2016-26-01 in the csv file, 2016-01-26 on the website)

Thanks to everyone for highlighting this issue - we are working with the dataset owner to get this issue resolved as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience! Karin - the Open-ouvert team

Thank you for your comment and your interest in the Tender Notices dataset. The Government of Canada tender notices open data files (Active, Expired, Awards, New Today, Goods, Services, Services Related to Goods, Construction) have contained the following issues since January 7, 2016: (1) the date format for the "publication date” and “date closing” fields were incorrectly formatted and will be corrected to reflect the format of "yyyy-mm-dd"; (2) the field “date closing” was incorrectly renamed as “closing date”. These issues will be corrected and the files will be updated and available for use Monday, January 11, 2016. We appreciate your feedback and regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

The file is still not a valid CSV file and is not wrapped in quotes. That was my original comment but the only acknowledgement you stated was fixing the names of a couple of fields. The entire CSV needs to be fixed.

Thanks Rick. We have notified Public Works for their action. Best regards, the Open Government Team

Still no update for my question 4 days ago? The file is still not a valid CSV. Eevery cell must be quote wrapped, split by commas, and have NO spaces. Why was this changed in the first place and when can you fix it to be a valid CSV?

Thank you for your comment and your interest in the Tender Notices dataset. As of January 7, 2016, the use of double quotes is only applied to avoid characters delimiting the record field (for example: for commas found in the Description field). Prior to the update on January 7, the Tender Notices open data files enclosed every field in double quotes. This change does not affect the validity of the CSV file, however, it was recently discovered that double quotes were missing in the “access_terms_of_use” field. To correct this error, updates will be made to the open data files on January 20, 2016, along with other enhancements, which will be outlined in a following comment.

Public Services and Procurement Canada has identified issues with its Tender Notices dataset and will be making corrections to the files during the week of January 18, 2016. The issues stem from the incorrect introduction of a Line Feed (/n) and consequent replacement of the Carriage Return Line Feed (/r/n). The use of Carriage Return Line Feed will be restored to all Tender Notices open data files as it is the more common expression to indicate the “end of record”. A complete list of the changes coming is available on Buyandsell.gc.ca: https://buyandsell.gc.ca/updates-to-government-of-canada-tender-notices-open-data-files . Buyandsell.gc.ca will publish a follow up news item to inform users when these updates are complete.

This is to confirm that updates have been made to the Tender Notices open data files (active, expired, awards, new today, goods, services, services related to goods, construction). For more details on the updates, please read the news item available on Buyandsell.gc.ca: https://buyandsell.gc.ca/updates-now-complete-for-government-of-canada-tender-notices-open-data-files.

The following is to inform users that a recent improvement was made to the Government of Canada Tender Notices open data files. The Government of Canada Tender Notices open data files (active, expired, awards, new today, goods, services, services related to goods, construction) are now available for download in "real time". This means that users can rely on the data being current (up to five minutes from the time of download). Previously, the Tender Notices open data files were updated once daily.

There is no Sweden in the list? Also Denmark and other countries are missing...

Thank you for your comment and your interest in the Tender Notices dataset. The dataset contains Government of Canada tender information exclusively. For more information on Government of Canada tenders, please visit https://buyandsell.gc.ca/procurement-data/tenders.

The Buy and Sell site for searching solicitations has been unstable for the past couple of days.

Thank you for your comment and your interest in the Tender Notices dataset. Buyandsell.gc.ca experienced intermittent and unexpected service interruptions throughout the day on June 20, and June 21, 2016. The service has since been restored. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.
