Canadian Guidelines on Sexually Transmitted Infections

About

The Canadian Guidelines on Sexually Transmitted Infections (CGSTI) were created as a resource for primary care and public health professionals – especially nurses and physicians – for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The CGSTI does not supersede any provincial/territorial legislative, regulatory, policy and practice requirements or professional guidelines that govern the practice of health professionals in their respective jurisdictions, whose recommendations may differ due to local epidemiology or context.

The Expert Working Group (EWG) for the CGSTI volunteer their time as authors, advisors and reviewers to maintain and update the content. The recommendations are based on the best available evidence, current clinical practices, and reflect emerging trends and issues in the field.

PHAC and the EWG would also like to thank the many healthcare professionals who serve as external reviewers for their valuable time and input.
