CDC Code of Ethics

The Canadian Dairy Commission’s Code of Ethics (PDF 284 Kb)is intended to promote ethical and professional behavior from its employees. The Code acts as a guide to employees on how to conduct themselves in the workplace and maintain professional relationships with co-workers and stakeholders and informs stakeholders of the standards the CDC expects of its employees while performing their responsibilities. It is based on the Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector and the Policy on Conflict of Interest and Post-Employement of the Treasury Board Secretariat.

In 2012, the CDC updated its Code of Ethics to reflect changes made to the Public Servants Disclosure Protection Act and the Policy on Conflict of Interest and Post-Employment. According to the CDC Code of Ethics, CDC employees are required to report in writing to the CEO all outside activities, assets and interests that might give rise to a real, apparent or potential conflict of interest in relation to their official duties. Such a report is to be made within 60 days of their initial appointment or any subsequent appointment, transfer or deployement and at least every three years thereafter, and every time a major change occurs in the personal affairs or official duties.
