Surveillance cameras of the NCC - Privacy Statement

Video surveillance recordings generated by closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras located on the perimeters of the National Capital Commission (NCC) properties are used to enhance the security of the facilities, as well as for the individuals and assets present in such facilities.  Such recordings may capture entry and exit times from facilities and may also be used to investigate thefts, security incidents or other emergency situations.  In such cases, this information may be shared with appropriate law enforcement agencies and emergency workers.  Furthermore, where video information reveals evidence of illegal activity, employee misconduct or accidents, the recordings may be disclosed to NCC staff relations officials, enforcement or investigative bodies for further investigations, charges or disciplinary actions.

The information is maintained in Personal Information Bank – PSU 907, and is protected in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act.  Under the Privacy Act, you have a right to access personal information about yourself that may be contained in video surveillance recordings, if you believe such information exists.
