Highway 104 Twinning Project Officially Opens
The Honourable Randy Delorey, Nova Scotia Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Honourable Goff MacLellan, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure renewal and Sean Fraser, Member of Parliament for Central Nova, on behalf of the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, today officially opened the Highway 104 twinning project to traffic.

Minister Garneau establishes task force to improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians on Canada's roadways
The Government of Canada understands that cyclists and pedestrians expect their roads to be safe. They rely on them to commute to work, to explore their communities, and to get their families home safely. The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, announced that Transport Canada and the provinces and territories will establish a new task force to discuss safety measures to reduce injuries and fatalities involving cyclists, pedestrians and heavy trucks.

Category III Instrument Landing Systems Operational at St. John's International Airport
St. John’s International Airport Authority announced today that its three-year, $37.3 million Airfield Accessibility and Safety Initiative is fully complete with Category III Instrument Landing Systems (CAT III ILS) now operational on both ends of the primary runway (R11/29). As a result, the airfield’s accessibility is enhanced significantly to 99% during low visibility conditions, allowing an estimated 700 more flights and 70,000 more passengers to arrive and depart annually without delays or cancellations. The project was completed on budget and ahead of its estimated completion date of March 2016.

Strengthening Canada's Asia-Pacific Gateway: new interchange will help grow exports and benefit the local economy
