An Interprovincial Transit Strategy is being developed to better integrate the interprovincial bus systems between downtown Ottawa and downtown Gatineau. The Strategy is in its final phase and is expected to be completed in fall 2011. It will deliver short, medium and long term solutions on how best to integrate the bus services offered by OC Transpo and the STO.

The NCC, the City of Ottawa and the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO) have partnered in this project, with participation by the Ville de Gatineau. The Interprovincial Transit Strategy reflects each partner’s commitment to sustainable transportation. It also reflects their shared goal of a more vibrant, liveable and attractive capital that is less reliant on cars.

The NCC has retained the services of McCormick Rankin Corporation, Tecsult AECOM and PACE Public Affairs & Community Engagement to develop the Interprovincial Transit Strategy. Consultations have been held throughout the project, allowing the public and stakeholders to have their say and suggest solutions.
