Celebrating Canada’s 150th in the Capital
To celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017, the NCC is offering unique experiences for visitors and residents. At the same time, we are working to fulfill our planning vision for Canada’s Capital Region and building a legacy for the next 50 years.
The NCC is undertaking initiatives in five main areas to mark Canada’s 150th anniversary.
Planning the Capital

- The Plan for Canada’s Capital 2017–2067 : lays out a broad vision for the future of the Capital
- The Capital Illumination Plan 2017–2027 : provides guidelines to enhance the beauty and safety of the Capital after dark
