Admissibility Hearings and Detention Reviews Trends and Projections

  • The Y axis (vertical) represents the number of admissibility hearings and detention reviews in increments of 5,000 ranging from 0 to 25,000.
  • The X axis (horizontal) represents five fiscal years grouped into three sections:
    • 2014-15: Past;
    • 2015-16: Forecast;
    • 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19: Planned.

Each fiscal year consists of two columns:

  • the first represents the number of admissibility hearings; and
  • the second represents the number of detention reviews.

For the fiscal year 2014-15;

  • a total of 2,000 admissibility hearings were finalized; and
  • a total of 15,000 detention reviews were finalized.

For fiscal year 2015-16:

  • a total of 2,000 admissibility hearings are forecast to be finalized; and
  • a total of 14,000 detention reviews are forecast to be finalized.

For fiscal year 2016-17:

  • a total of 2,000 admissibility hearings are planned to be finalized; and
  • a total of 14,000 detention reviews are planned to be finalized.

For fiscal year 2017-18:

  • a total of 2,000 admissibility hearings are planned to be finalized; and
  • a total of 14,000 detention reviews are planned to be finalized.
