What We Do

The Immigration Division conducts admissibility hearings for certain categories of people believed to be inadmissible to, or removable from, Canada under the law. It also conducts detention reviews for most persons being detained under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Canada's New Refugee Determination System

The Government of Canada recently implemented several key legislative changes to Canadas refugee determination system. Most of these changes came into effect on December 15, 2012. For more information on these changes, please consult the changes resulting from new legislation.
