WHITEHORSE—The Yukon government is flying the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (L.G.B.T.) rainbow flag in honour of Yukon Pride 2016: 24 Hours of Funky Gaylight.
“Our communities are stronger when we support all Yukoners being free from discrimination, be it sexual orientation, gender identity or any other form of discrimination,” Premier Darrell Pasloski said. “The Government of Yukon is proud to have taken steps toward inclusivity for all Yukoners, including changing standards for drivers’ licences and general identification so that transgender Yukoners can self-identify.”
The rainbow flag will fly through the weekend to coincide with Pride events.
