Canadian delegation to attend Education World Forum

WHITEHORSE – The Canadian delegation to the Education World Forum in London, England on January 10 to 12 will be led by Education Minister Patrick Rouble.

“The theme for this year’s summit is Education for Economic Success,” Rouble said. “We are excited about this opportunity to join with experts, ministers and senior officials to share perspectives in arriving at global solutions that will provide opportunities for people and strengthen our economies.”

More than 60 education ministers from across the globe will gather to collaborate, share experiences and challenges facing public schools as well as advanced education and trades institutions.
Discussions will centre on four topics addressing the future of education including:

  • technology and education change;
  • new designs and models for education;
  • evidence and new forms of assessment for the 21st century; and
  • strategies for higher education.

“We in Yukon are faced with many of the same issues and concerns found in other jurisdictions around the world,” Rouble said. “We look forward to working with other education leaders on topics that are important both globally and at home.”
