22 October 2014 Bank of Canada maintains overnight rate target at 1 per cent
The Bank of Canada today announced that it is maintaining its target for the overnight rate at 1 per cent. The Bank Rate is correspondingly 1 1/4 per cent and the deposit rate is 3/4 per cent. -
22 October 2014 Bank of Canada Interest Rate Announcement and Release of Monetary Policy Report
On Wednesday, 22 October 2014, the Bank of Canada will announce its decision on the target for the overnight rate. A press release will provide a brief explanation of the decision. The Bank will also publish its quarterly Monetary Policy Report (MPR) at the same time as the rate decision. -
21 October 2014 Operational Test of Standing Central Bank Swap Arrangements
As part of an exercise to test the operational readiness of existing standing swap arrangements with other central banks, the Bank of Canada will conduct a small-value Canadian-dollar operation with the European Central Bank, drawing euros against Canadian dollars.
