  Sheryl King was appointed as Advisor to the Governor, representing the Bank of Canada in its New York Office, effective 5 July 2016. She is responsible for promoting and strengthening ties between the Bank and the financial community in New York, with an emphasis on financial market and financial stability developments.

• Lawrence Schembri

  

  Lawrence Schembri was appointed Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada in 2013, serving as one of two deputy governors responsible for overseeing the Bank’s analysis and activities to promote a stable and efficient financial system. In 2016, he became responsible for overseeing the Bank’s analysis of domestic economic developments. As a member of the Bank’s Governing Council, he shares responsibility for decisions with respect to monetary policy and financial system stability, and for setting the strategic direction of the Bank.

  Sylvain Leduc was appointed Deputy Governor of the Bank of Canada, effective May 2016.   Paul Chilcott was appointed Advisor to the Governor, effective 19 May 2015. In this role, which focuses on financial market issues, he helps to coordinate the Bank’s work on promoting domestic and international financial stability.

  Rhys R. Mendes was appointed Managing Director of Economic and Financial Research, effective June 2016. In this capacity, he works with policy department chiefs, research directors and their departmental teams to develop and execute a leading-edge research work plan to support all of the Bank of Canada’s policy functions.

  Filipe Dinis was appointed Chief Operating Officer, effective May 2014. As COO, he is responsible for overseeing the Bank’s strategic planning, administrative functions and operations. This includes oversight of its corporate administration departments and operational planning.

In this role, which focuses on the Bank of Canada’s international activities, Mr. Murchison helps develop the strategy for the Bank’s global engagement, supports the Governor at meetings of the Bank for International Settlements, and coordinates the Bank’s work with other international partners and forums.

  Don Coletti was appointed Advisor to the Governor effective 26 August 2013. He is responsible for financial system issues, including vulnerabilities, reforms and market dynamics, and their implications for financial stability and monetary policy.
