What is the Cultural Access Pass?

The Cultural Access Pass lets new Canadians discover more than 1,000 museums and other cultural treasures across Canada, free of charge. The program is offered by the Institute for Canadian Citizenship, and is available to new Canadian citizens during their first year of citizenship.

Accessing Canada's Capital

Canadian Heritage is thrilled to take part in this program which welcomes new Canadians to their Capital. By exploring Ottawa–Gatineau with the Cultural Access Pass, new Canadians have access to a number of national cultural institutions. It's the opportunity to learn about and celebrate what it means to be Canadian.

How to Get Your Cultural Access Pass

Step 1: Register

If you are a new Canadian who has become a Canadian citizen within the past year, you can register for the Cultural Access Pass at the Institute for Canadian Citizenship website.

Step 2: Collect Your Pass and Begin Exploring

Cultural Access Passes can now be picked up at Canadian Heritage's Capital Information Kiosk in downtown Ottawa. It's the perfect location to both collect your pass and find out all you need to know about participating locations in Canada's Capital Region.
