Biography

Elizabeth (Beth) Marshall was appointed to the Senate of Canada in January of 2010 having previously spent 30 years with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Since 1979 Mrs.Marshall has occupied a number of positions in the provincial public service, including Deputy Minister of Transportation and Works, and Deputy Minister of Social Services, as well as a number of positions in the Dept. of Finance. She was appointed Auditor General of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1992 and served in that position for 10 years. In 2003 she was elected as MHA for the District of Topsail and was re-elected in 2007. Mrs. Marshall holds a Bachelor of Science (math) degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador and has been a Chartered Accountant since 1979. She served as Minister of Health and Community Services from 2003-04. She is married to Stan Marshall and they reside in the Town of Paradise, NL.
