Inspiring visitors every day: Our volunteers

Volunteers help the Museum create inspiring encounters with human rights. We need a dynamic, diverse and reliable team of volunteers to help us offer a visitor experience unlike any other.

Are you interested in a volunteer opportunity that will inspire you every day? Are you motivated to donate your time and expertise to the world’s only museum dedicated to human rights awareness and education? Imagine yourself volunteering at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights! In return for your time and commitment, you will:

  • Learn new skills
  • Build new relationships
  • Explore human rights
  • Feel a sense of pride and ownership showcasing Canada’s new national museum

What are the minimum requirements?

Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older and willing to commit to a minimum of 100 hours of service in a 12-month period of time. A reliability status check is required for all volunteers and a Child Abuse Registry check (CAR) may be required for some assignments. Ability to converse in English is essential for most assignments. Ability to converse in French and other languages is also an asset.
