State Room at the Citadelle

Residence Tours

Accompanied by one of our guides, explore the State rooms, where the governor general welcomes dignitaries and honours Canadians. This tour allows visitors to learn more about the governor general’s responsibilities and to discover the history, architecture and collections of this magnificent residence.

The 60-minute tour is free of charge.

Groups: The Residence is open to groups of 10 or more visitors, every day, from April 1, to October 31, 2017. Reservations are necessary and must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

Site information and amenities

  • It is possible to access the residence with a guide only. Visitors must get a ticket from a guide on their arrival. Tours are free of charge for everyone.
  • To enjoy the site completely, combine your tour of the residence with a visit to the Citadelle, offered by the Musée Royal 22e Régiment. For more information, please call 418-694-2815 or send an email to information@lacitadelle.qc.ca
  • At the Visitor Centre of the Musée Royal 22e Régiment, you will find public restrooms, water fountains, vending machines and a gift shop.
  • A few wheelchairs are available on-site. Please make arrangements before your visit by phone at 418-648-4322 / 1-866-936-4422 (toll-free) or by email at citadelle@gg.ca.
