CIAM-FM Fort Vermillion and its transmitter CIAM-FM-5 Weberville – Technical change

1. The Commission approves the application by CIAM Media & Radio Broadcasting Association (formerly known as CARE Radio Broadcasting Association) to change the authorized contours of its transmitter CIAM-FM-5 Weberville by decreasing the effective height of the antenna and by relocating the transmitter. All other technical parameters remain unchanged. The Commission received interventions in support of this application.
2. The applicant stated that the relocation of the transmitter is necessary due to the inferior structure of the present tower.
3. The Department of Industry (the Department) has advised the Commission that although there is no potential for interference to aeronautical NAV/COM services in the area, technical acceptability is conditional upon satisfactory resolution of any interference to these services should any be revealed by monitoring during on-air trials.
4. The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
