Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance

Ginette Petitpas Taylor has spent her entire life advocating for a fair and just society for all. Born and raised fluently bilingual in Dieppe as the youngest of a family of 9 children, Ginette took her longstanding passion for battling social issues as well as the wealth of knowledge obtained during her bachelor’s degree in social work at Université de Moncton and carried it into her career with the Codiac RCMP ably serving 23 years as Victim Services Coordinator, where she provided crisis counselling, domestic violence intervention, and domestic violence risk assessment to victims of crime.

Along the way, she has always made the time to volunteer for causes that she holds very close to her heart, generously lending her time to several community organizations, both provincially and locally, including the Coalition Against Abuse in Relationships and the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Suicide Prevention Committee in Moncton. Among others, she also served on the City of Moncton’s Public Safety Advisory Committee, was Chair of the New Brunswick Advisory Council on the Status of Women and a member of the Coalition for Pay Equity.

All of these experiences have helped her to gain tremendous knowledge on how to work with all levels of government and has kept her in touch with the issues that concern her constituents. When she’s not in Ottawa fighting for the causes she believes in while representing her constituency as the Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe and serving as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance, Ginette lives in Moncton with her husband Brock.
