The ENERGY STAR Simple Savings Calculator illustrates the economic and environmental benefits of buying ENERGY STAR certified products. The calculator can compare up to three models of a single type of product, including factors such as:
- annual operating costs
- lifecycle costs
- payback periods
- total energy savings
- total cost savings

Want to compare different types of products at one time? Use the Summary Calculator to assess savings from purchasing multiple types of ENERGY STAR certified products. The Summary Calculator is an add-on feature of the ENERGY STAR Simple Savings Calculator.
Note: These ENERGY STAR calculators generate estimates of energy, cost and emissions savings using base energy prices and other factors that are developed from Government of Canada data and energy rates posted by provincial and territorial utilities. National average energy costs are calculated and used as the calculators’ default settings. Users can localize the settings by selecting a province or territory, or inputting their own data. All values are updated regularly.

Registrants’ login
The ENERGY STAR Savings Calculator and The ENERGY STAR Summary Calculator are available free of charge. Registering with Natural Resources Canada’s Office of Energy Efficiency will give you full access to the calculator and future updates.
The ENERGY STAR name and symbol are administered and promoted in Canada by Natural Resources Canada and are registered in Canada by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
