As a public film producer and distributor, the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) creates social-issue documentaries, auteur animation and interactive works that provide Canada and the world with a unique Canadian perspective.

We are a federal cultural agency within the portfolio of the Canadian Heritage Department.

We are in the process of moving our services and information to Canada.ca.

Our current National Film Board website will remain available until the move to Canada.ca is complete.

Watch NFB films

More than 2,500 National Film Board of Canada productions are accessible via the NFB’s online Screening Room, NFB.ca. NFB works are also available in libraries across the country through the NFB Film Club, at various special events, and in several theatres.

The National Film Board of Canada film collection now contains more than 13,000 titles. This unique selection of documentaries, interactive productions, animation and more captures over 75 years of Canadian history.
