Terms of use for Statistics Canada YouTube channels

Statistics Canada is using YouTube as a communications tool and outreach channel to reach and engage with Canadians.

Statistics Canada does not endorse any of the views expressed in comments posted by users, and in no way verifies or confirms the accuracy of those comments. Comments that violate Rules of engagement may result in the comment being deleted and the user being blocked from the account.

Channels

Statistics Canada has two YouTube channels, one for each official language:

English: Statistics Canada
French: Statistique Canada

Content

Videos uploaded on Statistics Canada's YouTube channels will cover various themes and topics, ranging from information on surveys to recruitment opportunities.

The Statistics Canada YouTube channels are mainly used as an alternative method for accessing the video material posted in different sections of Statistics Canada's website. If you are looking for more information about the organization, please visit www.statcan.gc.ca.

Availability

Statistics Canada recognizes that the Internet is a 24/7 medium, and your messages and comments are welcome at any time. However, posting and moderating will occur during regular office hours, Monday to Friday. Messages and comments posted after business hours or on weekends and statutory holidays will be read as early as possible.

YouTube may occasionally be unavailable. Statistics Canada is not responsible for a lack of service caused by YouTube downtime.

Subscriptions

Statistics Canada will only subscribe to the YouTube channels of other Government of Canada institutions and other statistical organizations publishing information that is relevant its mandate. Statistics Canada's decision to subscribe to a particular YouTube channel does not imply endorsement of any kind.

Subscribers/Friends

Statistics Canada will only accept friend requests from other Government of Canada institutions and other statistical organizations publishing information that is relevant to Statistics Canada's mandate. The appearance of a YouTube account as a subscriber to a Statistics Canada channel does not imply endorsement of any kind.

Messages and comments

Statistics Canada welcomes feedback and ideas that are constructive and relevant from YouTube users. All videos and channel comments, as well as emails sent to the YouTube account will be read and any emerging themes or helpful suggestions will be passed to the appropriate people in the organization.

However, we may not be able to respond to all messages and comments. They will be handled on a case-by-case basis. For general enquiries about Statistics Canada products and services, please contact us.

Links to other websites

Content provided by Statistics Canada on YouTube may include, for your convenience, links to websites that are not under the responsibility of Statistics Canada or the Government of Canada.
