Becoming a Guide
Please note that the application period for summer 2017 is from November 1, 2016, to January 17, 2017.
Do you like to be part of the action? Would you like to meet people from around the world and enrich your language skills in both English and French? A job as a guide-interpreter may be for you!
As a guide-interpreter, you will greet thousands of visitors, from students to tourists to dignitaries. You will conduct tours as part of our visitor programme as well as during official ceremonies and events. In other words, you will be one of the front-line ambassadors of the institution.
This unique experience will allow you to learn new skills and prepare for your future career while building long-lasting friendships.
Eligibility criteria, qualifications and conditions of employment:
- Canadian citizen
- Full-time student in an undergraduate program in the winter 2017 term
- Returning to full-time studies at a recognized university for the fall 2017 term
- Excellent public speaking skills, in both English and French (bilingual essential)
- Strong skills in working with the public
- Available to work from May 1 to September 4, 2017, variable schedule, including weekends, holidays and some evenings during official events.
