Marie Chapman appointed first CEO

Marie Chapman was appointed the first CEO of the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. The announcement was made on October 25, 2011, by the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Chapman," said Minister Moore. "She is a creative, resourceful professional with passion for the cause, and she brings with her a wealth of talent and knowledge that is sure to benefit the Museum."

Ms. Chapman was a central figure in the establishment of the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 while working at the Pier 21 Society as Chief Operating Officer. She was the Director of Marketing, Sales, and Development at the Museum from 2003 to 2011 and has been its Chief Operating Officer since 2008.
