Sobeys Contributes New Stories

In 2017 Sobeys chose to honour two special milestones with a generous gift to the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. Sobeys is a proud Canadian family business with roots dating back 110 years to an immigrant family that settled in rural Nova Scotia. Partnering with the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is a celebration of the growth of this family business and our country. The goal of the Sobey Foundation 150/110 Anniversary project is to encourage Sobeys employees to be a part of history by sharing their personal stories of arrival in Canada with the Museum, ultimately adding to our permanent story collection.

For Sam Bartucci, the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 holds the links to his past and the keys to his future and the future of his children and grandchildren. Sam, the newly retired General Manager, Sobeys, West, is a proud Italian immigrant whose heart is rooted firmly in Canada.
