Media Release Policy

As a public institution, the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 (the Museum) often uses photographic and electronic images and/or recordings of public events, ceremonies and other activities to advance the mandate of the Museum.

By visiting or being employed by the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 and being present in public settings, you authorize the use and reproduction by the Museum, or anyone authorized by the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, to any photographs, audio and/or video recordings taken while at the Museum, without compensation. All electronic or non-electronic negatives, positives and prints, and other digital files shall constitute Canadian Museum of Immigration property, solely and completely.

It is recommended that a media release form be signed by all individuals who will be photographed, audio and/or video recorded specifically for Museum marketing materials and media dissemination. If the subject is a minor under the age of 19, a form must be signed by the child’s parent or guardian and secured before any photography can take place.
