© The Scotiabank Family History Centre is a free reference service to help you trace your own family immigration story. We’re located on the ground level of the Museum.
The Centre reaches beyond the years of 1928 to 1971 with information on topics including migration, nautical history, waves of immigration to Canada, ethnic groups and genealogy. We have immigration records from 1925 to 1935 on microfilm and our staff has access to arrival sources going back to 1865. We have access to information on all ports of entry into Canada (not just Pier 21!) and can search U.S. seaports such as New York and Boston. The Centre offers reference interviews, scans materials, collects stories, and works with partners on book, film and research projects.

Scotiabank Family History Centre responds to research inquiries; a searchable database is available. No fee for general and genealogical inquiries.
Duplication Fees:
Copies of any records located by Scotiabank Family History Centre staff can be purchased for $15.00 each. Clip-framed, customized ship images can be purchased for $25.00 and taxes. Prices subject to change.
