Our Studios

North West Studio (English)

NFB’s North West Centre works with filmmakers and digital artists from across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.  It’s a big responsibility; the area is vast and contains many different stories and points of view.  The Centre has proven it’s up to the challenge though, producing a string of acclaimed films and interactive projects from artists throughout the region.

In addition, the North West Centre has long been the NFB’s most vigorous champion of Indigenous filmmaking, producing landmark works by many of Canada’s most distinguished First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists.

North West Centre producers collaborate with independent filmmakers and digital artists from across the provinces and territories to create truly distinctive documentaries, animations, and interactive projects — works that express the many viewpoints of Canada’s West and North, while capturing the hearts of audiences across the country and around the world.
