Chronology

The investigation into a new border transportation system for the Windsor-Detroit gatewaycommenced in 2000 with the start of the cross border traffic survey. Over the next nine years the governments of Canada, the United States, Ontario and Michigan conducted one of the most complex environmental studies in Canadian and Michigan history. This ambitious and coordinated study resulted in environmental approvals on both sides of the border in 2009.
