Ombudsman for the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Forces

The Ombudsman investigates complaints from the Defence community and serves as a neutral third party on matters related to the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces. He reports directly to the Minister of National Defence. Its role is to help individuals access existing channels of assistance or redress when they have a complaint or concern. It may also investigate and report publicly on matters affecting the welfare of military members and employees of the Department and others falling within his jurisdiction.
