Independent Review Panel for Defence Acquisition

The Defence Procurement Strategy (DPS) aims to deliver the right equipment to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in a timely manner, leverage these purchases to create jobs and growth, and streamline procurement processes.

One of the core elements of the DPS is the implementation within the Department of National Defence (DND) of an independent, third-party challenge function related to the requirements for major procurements. This new challenge function will be carried out by the Independent Review Panel for Defence Acquisition (IRPDA), which was appointed by the Governor in Council in May 2015.
