Federal, provincial and territorial governments recognize the contribution historic places make to our communities. Since 2001, these jurisdictions have worked together to jointly develop core tools in heritage conservation: the Canadian Register of Historic Places (CRHP), a single source of information about historic places in Canada recognized for their heritage value at the local, provincial, territorial and national levels; and the Standards and Guidelines, developed to guide conservation practice in Canada.
