Michel Bissonnette
Executive Vice-President, French ServicesMichel Bissonnette became CBC/Radio-Canada’s Executive Vice-President of French Services on January 9, 2017. In this role, Mr. Bissonnette oversees all of the public broadcaster’s French-language programming services, including ICI RADIO-CANADA TÉLÉ, ICI ARTV, ICI EXPLORA, ICI RDI, ICI PREMIÈRE, ICI MUSIQUE, ICI TOU.TV, Radio-Canada.ca, as well as the other digital and mobile services.
Until his appointment, Mr. Bissonnette was president and executive producer at Zone3, a company he co-founded with three other partners in May 2000. From 2000 to 2009, he initially served as creative vice-president and executive producer, before being named president in January 2009. As the executive in charge of business and creative development, Mr. Bissonnette spearheaded Zone3’s alliance with the international Newen Network. Zone3 is Quebec’s largest independent production company and is ranked fourth overall in Canada.
Prior to that, from 1999 to 2000, Mr. Bissonnette served as vice-president of development for Motion International, where he was responsible for creative development, international product marketing, and all of the company’s communications activities. He also worked for Videotron as vice-president, marketing, and for TVA as executive director of communications and, subsequently, executive director of creative. Mr. Bissonnette began his career in 1989 with Publicis BCP, which he later rejoined as vice-president and executive director, product development.
