I tried signing up through the app but when I try to sign in it tells me I have the incorrect password. I have triple checked that my password and username is correct. This app needs an update or patch from what I've heard. Disappointing

I really do want it to work, but it's of little use with all the issues it has right now. When booking, I specify morning and gives me only one option. I go back and change it to "anytime" and then it gives me all the options, including other morning departures. Freezes frequently when booking. I had to try the times before it worked and sent me a confirmation. My credit card info needed updating, which I found out when trying to pay. I changed the expiry date but had to restart to booking process over again. It doesn't show my trip on the app even after a refresh. It tells me I cannot add the trip when I put the confirmation number. It should download the boarding pass directly to Android Pass and have an option to send to calendar. Needs work, lots o' work!

Complete waste of time. Downloaded this because VIA's mobile site is trash, but this doesn't work either. I wasted 20 minutes filling out forms and at the end of the process I have no evidence that my ticket was booked.

Hello Michael - it is somewhat normal for the app to take some time to retrieve all your booking details for the first time. I would be glad to help you with your issue if you can provide me with more details on exactly what you were trying to do and what you were experiencing with the refresh and also with "adding your booking reference'. Hi Angela, is it possible that you lost connectivity? I am unable to reproduce your issue on my phone. Can you please try again and advise. Thank you for providing us with your feedback, we do our utmost to respond to customer's comments and suggestions and try to fix irritants as soon as we can. Try to book trip but constant error...guess will have to get paper ticket from train station

Hello Patricia - can you please advise on the error you are receiving so I can try to assist you in replicating this error and hopefully finding a fix for it. thanks Terrible app, lots of bugs and it wouldn't accept my credit card payment. Kept giving an error and the same thing was happening on the website. I just ended up booking with Mega bus instead and their system worked fine on my phone. Deleting the app.
Today I cannot connect. I got an error code. It does not take into account saved discount code when booking with the app. I have to enter it manually.
This app does not allow you to compare prices and is awful to navigate. The entire user interface needs to be changed. The website was much better
This app isn't terrible, but definitely has issues. My #1 issue is it doesn't update the bookings, even if you "pull down" to refresh. One workaround that seems to work is to log out and back in again, but when you are rushing for a train in a panic, this is the last thing on your mind. Otherwise, some of the navigation is not intuitive, such as, swipe right to see your return leg. Hopefully these issues get fixed over time.
Worked fine when I first started using it. I have been getting an error code for the last couple of weeks. Should give 0 stars because it just doesn't work.
Never works right, in particular the trip booking feature, which just tells you to go to the webpage. Get your app sorted, VIA. Sheesh.
Still can't add trips in app. App is up to date. Please fix this; this bug renders the app virtually useless.
App won't even log me in properly. Whoever you hired to make it scammed you, Via.
I asked for Montréal - Toronto and Ottawa - Toronto appeared. Can't select a train anyway
Used in the past, was good. Now doesn't work at all. Cannot book a trip
Biggest drawbacks are that you can not print the reservation with bar code and repeat the same booking for the next day, also often it is out of sync with the reservations made on the phone. Works OK. As for desired functionality, it could notify members of discounts for his typical trips, have notifications in advance when the train is delayed, provide an ETA based on GPS readings since the train from Montreal is often late.
It is useless. Go ahead and try and book a trip from Edmonton to Vancouver....you have to know the schedule so you can search for the train.
When will we be able to link our Via Preference account so that I can see all my current, past and future trips? I book my trips via third party (work travel website-AMEX) and because of this I cannot retrieve my boarding pass or any other information. When will you link all of that info via the preference loyalty program?
Works occasionally then the whole app stops working (can't book or access tickets), and takes them 1-2 months to fix, then it works for a few months and the cycle continues.
Seems to stop working with every other update. Can't use it to view my trips or book a trip this time. Completely useless.

We are currently experiencing stability issues which are causing the "error occurred" message. Be assured that we are working on these technical issues and will try to resolve them as quickly as possible. If you any other questions or comments, don't hesitate to send them at mapp@viarail.ca. How did this app manage to be so utterly useless??? Such a waste of my time ended up having to go on the website anyway... Every single time... Do not bother installing it
Very bad App you can not make reservations. U can't check Status of many trains like no 1 & 2 as their delay by hours. If time changes after midnight u will also can not chech status. Customers service phone delay more than 20 minutes. Just one phone number Canada Wide. U can not contact any via rail station.
Might be okay for regular commuters, but worse than useless for tourists. Why would via want to put potential customers through such an excruciating exercise in frustration? Better off using browser, a phonecall, rome2rio or just about any other method than this app. Are my taxpayer dollars funding this app?
I used to use this app on my HTC One M9. It worked pretty well and I'd use it daily. Now, I have a Pixel XL and this app just does not work. It doesn't load any information, I can't access rail passes, book trips, etc.
This app is clunky. It often doesn't show my upcoming trips. Buying a ticket on the app is convoluted because it doesn't list the prices next to each train/time... And that is when it allows you to buy a ticket--currently, this feature is not working.
Usually apps get better not worse. New update sucks. Everything I try to book a trip I get a error. Good thing grey hound works.
Since new version came out can no longer use book function. Worked perfectly before?
Worked quite well for quite a while but the new update appears to have killed the ability to book within the app (which makes bookings a pain).
Great app keeps my travel on VIA well organized. Also great to check and see if we are arriving on time. Love the train!
