Time travel with dinosaurs in new Escape Manor experience at Canadian Museum of Nature

Ottawa, December 4, 2017 – Get ready to chase dinosaurs at the Canadian Museum of Nature, as Ottawa’s Escape Manor begins a new season in the museum’s historic building. The interactive entertainment company is partnering again to offer “escape” experiences in two of the museum’s galleries.

Starting December 8, participants can choose among two immersive, 1-hour long escape experiences, designed for groups of up to 12. The escapes take place after dark, when the museum is closed. This year’s activities revolve around two intriguing plots, ‘Framed’ in the Mammal Gallery, and, new this year, ‘Back to the Fossils’ in the Fossil Gallery.

“We are excited to renew this partnership following last year’s successful collaboration and to build on the growing popularity of immersive, interactive and educational entertainment,” says Steve Wilson, VP Marketing and Co-Owner of Escape Manor. “The museum’s historic setting allows us to present unique experiences that will appeal to local residents and tourists alike. Who wouldn’t want to escape amidst the dinosaurs, after-hours, in a national museum?”

‘Framed’ is set in the museum’s Mammal Gallery and challenges guests to solve a crime to exonerate a clerk accused of theft. In ‘Back to the Fossils’, guests join Dr. Rex to fix his time machine and return some stowaway dinosaurs to their rightful time period in earth’s history. These after-dark escapes run from December 8 to April, 30, 2017 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

The Canadian Museum of Nature’s castle-like stone building, located at 240 McLeod St., is Canada’s first national museum building, having served as the original home for the National Gallery, the Canadian Museum of History and the Geological Survey of Canada. Among the museum’s treasures are the first dinosaur displayed in Canada and historic dioramas depicting the country’s iconic mammals in recreated habitats.
