Q3 financial results

Canada Post has released its 2017 third-quarter results — these 5 facts will tell you what you need to know.

We have just released our financial results for the third quarter of 2017. The Canada Post segment lost $62 million before tax in the third quarter, traditionally our slowest period of the year. However, for the first three quarters of 2017, we reported a profit before tax of $13 million, largely due to strong growth in Parcels volumes and revenue. Canada Post delivered one million or more parcels on a single day a record 38 times in the first three quarters of 2017. That’s more than the 34 days in all of 2016, which reflects the continuing strength of our e-commerce strategy. Canada Post expects a record online holiday shopping season and to end 2017 with a profit before tax.
