Investors Group Community Coaching Grants

Calling all organizations, big and small! Are you hosting an event that will educate and develop coaches or coach developers in your community? The Investors Group Community Coaching Grant program has grants available for organizations that bring coaches and coach developers of community-based sports together under one roof to learn, train, and network with each other. Check out the information below to see if your event is eligible!

Thank you for your interest in the Investors Group Community Coaching Grant program. As of December 1, 2017, the 2017-18 Grant program has reached its financial capacity. This year the program supported over  3,000 community coaches in their quest to be the best leaders possible.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants can include:

  • Community schools
  • Community parks and recreation departments
  • Community sport clubs
  • Community leagues
  • Provincial/territorial coaching associations
  • Provincial/territorial sport organizations
  • National sport organizations

Grant Opportunities

There are three types of events that are eligible for the funding. Please click on each and read the requirements below for all three opportunities. 

  • I am hosting an NCCP workshop

    An Investors Group Community Coaching NCCP Workshop:

    • Targets coaches as the primary audience
    • Is an NCCP approved sport-specific workshop or event led by an accredited NCCP Learning Facilitator or Evaluator
    • Has a participation ratio of 5-30 participants per Learning Facilitator
    • Recognizes Investors Group and CAC as sponsors
    • Is eligible for funding up to $500 (upon receipt of a post workshop report)

  • I am hosting a Coach Developer training or evaluation event

    An Investors Group Coach Developer training or evaluation:

    • Targets coach developers (LF, CE, or MCD) as the primary audience
    • Is a content specific Coach Developer module
    • Is an NCCP approved event delivered by a CAC recognized delivery agent (NSO or PSO)
    • Is recognized partner (NSO or PSO) sending candidates to an NCCP approved event
    • Has a participation level of 5+
    • Recognizes Investors Group and CAC as sponsors
    • Is eligible for funding of $100 per participant, up to a maximum of $2,000 (upon receipt of a post workshop/event report and final budget)

  • I am hosting a Conference with an NCCP Workshop

    An Investors Group Community Coaching Conference and NCCP Workshop:

    • Targets coaches as a primary audience
    • Has a variety of sessions and speakers
    • Has a minimum of 20 participants
    • Provides networking opportunity
    • Includes an NCCP approved workshop or event led by an accredited NCCP Learning Facilitator or Evaluator
    • Recognizes Investors Group and CAC as sponsors
    • Is eligible for funding within a range of $750 - $1,000 (upon receipt of a post-conference report)

To allow for sufficient time for the planning of your conference, we recommend that your application be submitted two months before the date of the conference. If your conference is less than two months away, contact us at communitycoaching@coach.ca to see if we can accommodate you, but please note:

  • We do not accept applications for past events.
  • There are a limited number of grants available.
