Cycling Canada offers the following NCCP workshops.

Let’s Ride! Community Cycling Initiation: Ideal for parents, volunteers, teachers and others who occasionally work with youth or adults new to cycling, this one day, in-class workshop covers the basic principles of coaching including ethical decision making, planning and organizing a practice, cycling safety and risk management, and introducing disabled riders to the sport.

Let’s Ride! Basic Cycling Skills: This 8-hour workshop trains coaches on the instruction of basic cycling skills. Workshop material covers skill analysis, observation, and corrective feedback – all vital skills for coaches of both new and experienced cyclists looking to improve.

Ready to Race! Training Basics: If you want to work with competitive cyclists at the community and club level, this workshop is for you. Learn structured training, competition programming, and skill development in this 14-hour in-class course designed for coaches that work with athletes aged 12 and up in most cycling disciplines.

Ready to Race! Skills and Tactics: This 8-hour hands-on workshop is focused on analyzing athletes’ performances and teaching racing skills and tactics. It is an advanced class where you will learn discipline specific skills (road, mountain bike, track, and BMX) needed for racing.

Ready to Race! Training to Race: During this 14-hour in-class workshop, you will gain valuable tools to support your athletes as they prepare for cycling competitions including: training techniques, season planning, mental preparation and more.

Performance Cycling: Designed for coaches working with athletes in the Train to Train and Train to Compete stages of the LTAD who are competing at the National and initial Internationals levels, this 2.5-day workshop focuses on analyzing performance and program planning. Coaches will learn how to provide an in-depth performance plan that includes a solid foundation of technical skills and a detailed attention to cycling position that is needed to maximize efficiency and performance.
