The Citadelle of Québec
The Residence of the Governor General at the Citadelle of Québec
To increase awareness of the role of the governor general of Canada and to provide students with a school outing in the beautiful City of Québec, the Residence of the Governor General at the Citadelle offers a program that is sure to please young visitors.
All our activities are free of charge.
On Her Excellency’s Secret Service (School Program)
Duration: 60 minutes
This activity is based on the famous Clue™ board game and helps students explore the State rooms of the residence in their search for clues to solve a mystery. Three educational, interactive and fun missions are available, according to grade level. The suggested activities were designed to complement lessons students learn in class, in accordance with various provincial curricula.

Heralds and Heroes
Duration: 90 minutes
Knights and princesses are invited to participate in a tournament during which they will acquire the necessary qualities to be part of the Herald Brotherhood. Each of the five challenges will help them discover the fascinating world of heraldry—the science of coats of arms. Are you up to the challenge?

Our educational programs are available for students and children groups only. Reservations are mandatory and must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

Group Arrivals
- Groups are welcomed at the bus lay-by, on the Côte de la Citadelle. Please notify us at the time of your reservation if you will be visiting the Citadelle of Québec (Le Musée Royal 22e Régiment) before touring the governor general’s residence.
- The Citadelle is an active military base as well as the governor general’s residence and workplace. For security reasons, visitors are not allowed to wander freely throughout the site or in the residence. All visitors, including tour leaders and chaperones, must follow their appointed guide at all times.
Amenities
- Public restrooms, water fountains, vending machines and a gift shop are located at the Visitor Centre of the Musée Royal 22e Régiment.
- Rest areas and picnic tables are also available on-site.
- Groups may wish to bring their lunches to Battlefield Park (Plains of Abraham), a few minutes away from the Citadelle (www.ccbn-nbc.gc.ca/en/).
- The bus lay-by is located at the entrance to the Citadelle.
