Rideau Hall in Ottawa Built in 1838, Rideau Hall has been the official residence for Canada’s governors general since 1867 and a workplace since 1940. This heritage site is just a few minutes away from downtown Ottawa. Educational tours of the residence and grounds are offered to school groups, from Grade 5 to adult students.
The Residence of the Governor General at the Citadelle of QuébecBuilt in 1831 within the Citadelle of Québec, this outstanding heritage structure has served as the second official residence of Canada’s governors general since 1872. School programs are offered to student groups in grades 3 to 8 / Grade 3 to Secondary II.
