KEY PLAYERS

Pillar/Jones

Both centre fielders are off to solid starts at the plate. Baltimore’s Adam Jones is hitting .267 with three home runs, seven RBIs and a .797 OPS, while Kevin Pillar of the Jays is batting .270 with three RBIs and a .748 OPS. They’ve also fared well against each other: Jones is a career .277 hitter against Toronto, while Pillar has hit at a .302 clip against Baltimore over the years.

NEED TO KNOW

The Blue Jays went 7-12 against the Orioles last year … Baltimore is coming off a series win over the New York Yankees in which the first game when 14 innings and the last one took 12. Expect reinforcements to the Orioles bullpen on Monday after that workload ... Oriole Mark Trumbo, who hit a walkoff homer to beat the Jays in their first meeting last year, remains on the disabled list with a quad strain, as is ex-Jay outfielder Colby Rasmus (hip flexor) and right-hander Gabriel Ynoa (shin splints).

ON DECK

Three games at Cleveland starting Friday.
