According to the 2006 Canadian census, 12,425 Canadians claimed full or partial Flemish ancestry while another 168,915 people claimed Belgian ancestry.

Flemish people in Quebec[edit]

Many Flemish immigrants work and live in Quebec, specifically in southeastern part of the province, well-known as the "East Bend". Emilie Heymans is a very-well-known Flemish Quebecer.
