The Centre for Data-Driven Innovation is being created to provide a safe and trusted place to make new discoveries with Crown data.
The B.C. Government collects and produces a vast amount of data and provides many ways for it to be discovered, accessed and reused. Foremost is the B.C. Data Catalogue - the central registry for ministries’ data, web applications and web services. The major themes of Statistics, Geographic Data and Open Data are also notable. All of this data is used in government decision making and can provide insights into the B.C. population, natural resource stewardship, the economy and other aspects.
