Notice - Cannabis

Despite the fact that cannabis (marijuana) is legal and regulated in Canada, it remains illegal to take cannabis across Canada's national borders, whether you are entering or leaving Canada. For more information, consult cannabis (marijuana) legalization.

Notice - Mail processing delays

The Canada Post strike may lead to delays in receiving or sending international mail. If your parcel is with Canada Post, please track your parcel by visiting the Canada Post website. Items which have been transferred to the CBSA for additional processing will display the following notice on the Canada Post web site: “Item presented to the CBSA for customs review”.

The CBSA is unable to provide a precise tracking of parcels being processed.

Notice - Surtax

Starting , certain goods originating from the U.S. are subject to a surtax that will apply to commercial shipments as well as goods being imported by travellers above their personal exemptions. The list of goods is available on the Department of Finance website. For more information, please refer to Customs Notice 18-08, Memorandum D16-1-1 and Frequently Asked Questions.
